Browse using the page links or drop-down menus where you can find internal and external details of both our Station Building and the Parcel Office and now of our Saloon Coach DB999508
Built in the late 1890s and renovated in the 1984, Rowden Mill Station has been outwardly restored to its original specifications, while internally it is now fully equipped for modern living.
The Station Building
accommodates 4 guests in two bedrooms. It has a period decorated lounge with a wood-burning stove, a well fitted country style kitchen and a victorian family bathroom. The magnificent station canopy over the platform provides a spectacular setting for outside dining and from where to enjoy the extensive countryside views.
The Parcel Office
is just along the platform and is original to the station.
This self-contained space has an en-suite bathroom, a wood-burning stove and kitchen facilities. With a projector and screen, a DVD player and fast wifi, the Parcel Office offers a fabulous home-cinema experience. The large room has a double bed, a table and chairs for dining and a sofa-bed for comfortable sitting while watching a film or enjoying the lovely views of the rolling hills. The Parcel Office provides a perfect escape for a couple while also working well as an annexe for larger families or groups of friends visiting the station.
The Saloon Coach is now arrived at Platform 2, which is off-set from the main platform providing a separate area with its own unique facilities.
The Saloon Coach is newly fitted and sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms, along with a kitchen, bathroom and utility area. Built in the early 1960s, we have retained many of the original features complemented by retro furnishings to complete the 1960s look.
In the background we have installed a modern kitchen and bathroom, along with fast wifi and central heating. Outside on Platform 2 are a dedicated picnic area and gas bbq.
