The Parcel Office
The Parcel Office has an unspoilt view of the rolling hills opposite the station. While relaxing on the sofa, the beautiful scenery is a constant companion- with the changing features of nature and wildlife throughout the year. It is a perfect place for bird-watching or spotting the sun and moon rises on the horizon.
With two sliding doors, one glazed and a solid wood one, direct access from the platform as well as privacy are both achieved harmoniously and in-keeping with the character of the building.
The Parcel Office provides a perfect escape for a couple while also works well as an annexe to the Station Building for larger families or groups of friends visiting the station.
It is a self-contained studio with en-suite bathroom, kitchen facilities and a fabulous home-cinema.
This large room also has a double bed, a table with two chairs, a wardrobe and a sofabed.
The en-suite bathroom is a key feature of this self-contained space. This modern shower room also includes a vanity unit with a mirror and shelf above.
The incredibly efficient wood-burning stove in the Parcel Office ensures warmth in the winter months, and provides a place by the fire for those evenings when required at other times of the year.
A supply of wood and kindling over winter is included.
If unsure on how to run a wood-burner, do not worry, we will brief you on the operation of the stove during our meeting and greeting on arrival at the station. On cold days, we will already have started the fire ahead of your arrival.
The Parcel Office also offers a fabulous home-cinema experience.
A large screen and projector complete with a DVD/Blu-ray player and speaker system, along with a fast internet connection and black-out blinds provide the atmosphere for a most enjoyable time.
We have started a collection of films on DVD for you to browse from (if you have any railway-related gems that you care to share with us, we very much welcome suggestions!).
The kitchen facilities at the Parcel Office are comprised of:
a two-ring gas hob with extraction fan,
an under-counter fridge,
a kettle, microwave oven and a toaster
the sink & drainer,
along with all the usual pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and utensils.
A small shelf above the kitchen top houses our complimentary caddies and condiments.
