   The Platform Canopy

The canopy over the station platform is the perfect outdoor space to enjoy this atmospheric place, with fantastic long-distance views over rolling countryside.


Easily sitting 8 people, the outdoor table and chairs in front of the platform bench can be used for al-fresco dining.

Hampers of delicious local produce can be delivered to the station.


There is also a 3-seater bench with cushions to comfortably lounge and admire the views. 


Covering most of the station building, this canopy has a great roof lantern bathing the station rooms with natural light.


The lounge at the Station building is housed at the former Waiting Room. With its dual aspect windows if a well-lit room with a focal point of the wood-burning stove and its mantle piece with an oval mirror above it. The central heating is well supplemented by the output of the log burner for a cosy autumn days and winter warmth.

        The Lounge

The former Waiting Room, with tall sash windows and double doors leading to the station platform is a comfortable sitting area complete with a wood-burning stove and Ercol chairs.

The lounge also has a TV and DVD player along with a collection of films.

On the bookcase, guests will find local maps and information as well as our small library of books, including those related to the history of the station.

      Station Kitchen

Formerly the Booking Office, the kitchen is fully-fitted in a cottage style with modern kitchen equipment including gas hob over an electric oven, extractor hood, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher.

A round period Ducal table sits 4 when closed and 6 comfortably when extended.

      Main Bedroom

 Formerly the Ladies’ Waiting Room, this double bedroom has a tall window overlooking the platform with views of the surrounding hills. There is a Victorian feature fireplace and a wash basin with vanity suite, a mirror and overhead light. Bedside tables with drawers and a fitted wardrobe.

    The Porters’ Room

The porters room is now a bedroom with adult sized bunk beds.

It has a dressing table and a mirror along with bedside tables with drawers. Further storage in an under-bed drawer.

Two windows provide plenty of light.

    Victorian-style Bathroom

This lovely room is flooded in natural light coming through a modern roof lantern.

Done in Victorian style, it has a bath and shower over, a Victorian wash-down toilet and bidet; a wash basin with vanity suite and mirror.
